Brief: AG Barr engaged with by paradigm group to provide a sustainable design & build solution to their overheating problem experienced in three of their sites located in the UK, Milton Keynes, Cumbernauld and Strathmore.
All projects incorporated evaporative cooling units mounted at roof level with GatorDuct as the sustainable air transportation system from plant diffuser point. The environment within the three facilities is a traditional factory scheme and AG Barr required a unique touch to provide both a cooling solution to problematic heat gains and an aesthetically pleasing design. After discussions with the client, GatorDuct proposed a circular ductwork system to replicate AG Barr’s product, soft drinks cans.
The cans were scaled replicas to suit the design specification at the correct duct size whilst also matching artwork layouts for each individual flavour of soft drink. AG Barr also requested motivational messages for their staff in the form of UV printed banners down the side of the ductwork designs. These systems were manufactured in rectangular to suit the artwork and required look. Whilst meeting the client’s criteria of a much more comfortable environment, the installations looked like no other ventilation system project and provided the greenest cooling credentials on the planet. It’s now a huge talking point for AG Barr who can’t wait to take customers into their production facilities. The client is over the moon with the outcome of each project.
The Results: The AG Barr’s projects demonstrated GatorDuct’s design expertise in providing a bespoke, innovative and sustainable ductwork solution to design led projects to deliver a ductwork system like no other.
