Brief : The engineering team at Lampton school in west London engaged with GatorDuct to create a sustainable ductwork solution for their academy’s new Sixth Form building.
GatorDuct was selected to provide a sustainable and creative ductwork solution for Lampton School working with reputable building services consultants S I Sealy. Construction of their new Sixth Form building had begun and they wanted to install a distribution system from the plantroom transporting air throughout the building into the classrooms.
The ductwork had to fit into very confined spaces as the ceiling void was tight. Coordination with all M & E services was carried out by the GatorDuct engineers but they also had to take into account that the system was exposed in key locations. It had to compliment an open plan atrium and the exposed glulam beam structure.
In the design phase many print options were considered, but the end agreement was a natural kraft finish which compliments the school’s interiors and surroundings perfectly. The connection system was colour matched to the fixtures and fittings in the classrooms to ensure that the ductwork complemented the aesthetics. Throughout the install we had to take into consideration the day to day working and studying environment of all staff and pupils.
Our ductwork now ensures that tempered, clean air is delivered to the classrooms in an efficient manner improving comfort in all areas. The installation was a great success and the school is really pleased with the GatorDuct system. Lampton School are proud to be associated with GatorDuct the only sustainable ductwork solution available on the plant today.
The Results: This project demonstrated GatorDuct’s design expertise in providing an innovative and sustainable ductwork solution, whilst completing all works within a short timescale. aesthetically and practically GatorDuct outperforms traditional ductwork systems.
